Washington West Ridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some pictures of climbing Mt. Washington with Jim Ablao\u00a0at<b>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chockstoneclimbing.com\/\">Chockstone Climbing Guides<\/a><\/b><b>.\u00a0<\/b> It&#8217;s a 7794 foot peak in the Mt. Washington wilderness of the Oregon Cascades.<\/p>\n<p>We camped at Big Lake the day before and started hiking at about 5:30AM on the Pacific Crest Trail.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about a 4 mile hike to the base of the mountain.\u00a0 The climber&#8217;s trail is marked by a cairn and branches left off the PCT.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no water between Big Lake and the top of the mountain.\u00a0 Cold Water Spring is about 1\/4 mile past the climber&#8217;s trail on the PCT, but we didn&#8217;t see if it had water.<\/p>\n<p>We climbed the West Ridge, which is on the right in the picture below.\u00a0 It&#8217;s rated as a 5.8 in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0962904201\/104-7726078-5519910\">Oregon High<\/a>\u00a0climbing guide.\u00a0 The climb is 7 pitches and about 700 feet vertical.
