My side view mirror on the driver’s side was flopping left and right. \u00a0I could hear the motor running, but it wasn’t connected to the mirror.<\/b><\/p>\n

To remove the mirror, start by moving it all the way down and left. \u00a0You can now pull the top-right side out and insert a small screw driver. \u00a0Push down and away from the mirror to release the wire spring:<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pull out the wire spring with small needle nose pliers. \u00a0This will release the mirror.<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Remove three T<\/strong>orx T10 screws that hold the mirror motor to the mirror housing:<\/b><\/p>\n

The mirror motor Mercedes part number is: A 202 820 83 42<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Unplug the connector from the mirror motor to remove it. Install the new motor by connecting the wires and the three Torx screws.<\/b>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To replace the mirror, reinsert the wire spring as shown below. \u00a0Make sure the “\u03a9” at the spring’s center\u00a0is pointing toward the back of the mirror — otherwise you’ll see it after the mirror is installed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mirror just snaps nicely back into its housing.<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Afterwards, I took the old mirror motor apart and realized that it could have easily been repaired! \u00a0The tiny ball joint which performs the right\/left\u00a0motion just needed to be\u00a0popped back into the base plate.<\/strong><\/p>\n
